Business Card Printing: Your Own Style!

There are a lot of ways to create and design your post card, whether in a black and white color or to the stunning four color print. You can also do it as simple as it is or make it as creative as possible. Nobody will stop you making your own style of post card because it is you who will decide for whatever idea you wanted to incorporate in your cardyoure free as a bird to do things the way you wanted it to be.

But most of the clientele would want to express their postcard in an eye-catching four color print. They believe that the more vibrant the postcard will be the more customers will pay attention to it and give cognizance to the postcard. However, the question is, if youre just starting to use a four color postcard what will be the best design to apply? A common question of a beginner who wanted to bring out the best in his four color postcards.

Before developing the design of your postcard asks yourself what is this postcard intended for? Is it an order form, mini-news release, or a general statement of my products and/or services? Make your postcard in a way that will influence the reader to take action. Make sure that if your postcard is a form for ordering or surveying, keep it simple because too much text can be confusing which may cause the reader to lose interest.

When choosing a font make sure you use at least 10pt text. A sans-serif font (Arial, Tahoma, Verdana) is best suited for smaller type size because it has a cleaner sharper look. According to recent marketing research it is proven that full color postcards are more effective than postcards printed in one or two colors. The visual cues in full color printing capture the attention of the reader. Another consideration when designing your custom printed postcard is what type of card stock you will use: coated or uncoated. Coated card stock will express your message on your postcard more vividly since the stock offers a smooth glossy finish adding also its durability.

Choosing your own style of four color postcards is easy if you are going to consider the following tips suggested below:

  • Prepaid return postage.

  • Pre-addressed return address on card or a pre-addressed envelope.

  • Color. Neon-bright paper, pre-printed paper, or photo-postcards attract attention.

  • Plenty of room to fill in names and addresses, and easy-to-read large type.

  • Check-boxes that allow the recipient to quickly fill out order forms or surveys.

  • Incentives such as free gifts or drawings for prizes to entice recipients to return surveys or other types of reply cards.
Include your mailing address, phone number, or other alternate contact information on the card.

  • Repeat any special marketing message that is found in accompanying marketing materials. http://www.theprintguide.com/postcard-printing/

  • Calls to action. Always tell the recipient what to do with the card "Fill it out & drop it in the mail" may seem obvious, but say it anyway.

  • I agree that a great looking card is always picked up, remembered and will stand out on any desk. Great postcard designs will always be noticed in the mail. http://www.andreoni.com/. So the next time you decided to make your own postcard, try to be very smart!

Looking Positively: Understanding Four Color Post Card Printing

Color postcards are considers one of the best means of advertising for business world. When displaying a business's information on color postcards, pretty sure will grab people's attention. And able to convince many patrons to engaged in your business.

As I am thinking of the credibility of the connotation about the color postcards, Id come a crossed an article posted at http://info@printingquote.com/ about some relevant points of views regarding my personal query. Very appealing results gave clarifications on my article which I have considered sharing. That, a direct mail campaign is a great way to advertise a business. We can easily hit thousands of people with eye-catching information about your company. By securing what you wanted for your postcards to look and let you portrays your business accurately, with vibrant colors to draw in the most possible business.

A quality postcard must allow a full color on both sides of the postcard. It is less important to have a dazzling front to the card and then have to settle for a plain black and white back if an intense color on both sides is possible. The rationale is that color on both sides has a high probability of drawing the eye--if someone receives the postcard in the mail, and jumbled up amidst other mailers and circulars.

Now taking note of wanting to make sure that you have chosen a quality color postcards printing services, these color postcards will be an extension of your business thus, securing all the necessity to put only the best foot forward.

Basically, what lays the difference between full color postcard printing and an average postcard is that in four color postcard you will have amazing and radiant colors that surely catch the attention of the people. While in black and white postcards it is practically unnoticeable. So if you are looking for a more different style of postcard try to create a four color postcard that complements your business well.

A Closer Look At The Printing Press History

Are you a reader enthusiast? Well if you do for sure you have a better gratitude for the printing press services. The benefits it gives us made us luckier that we can now preserve and duplicate our books and other papers alike without using the conventional means of printing. But thanks a lot to this process for transformation in printing world had come to its fullest development.

Before anything else, did you know where printing press first originates? And how does it help the people? To further understand the essence of printing press lets have a closer look at its history.

Basically, printing is the process of making multiple copies of a document by the use of movable characters or letters. This process was actually developed independently in China and Europe. Before the invention of printing, multiple copies of a manuscript had to be made by hand, a laborious task that could take many years. Printing made it possible to produce more copies in a few weeks than formerly could have been produced in a lifetime by hand. Invented by Johann Gutenberg in c1450, the printing press made the mass publication and circulation of literature possible. Derived from the presses farmers used to make olive oil, the first printing press used a heavy screw to force a printing block against the paper below.

The operator worked a lever to increase and decrease the pressure of the block against the paper. The invention of the printing press, in turn, set off a social revolution that is still in progress. The German printing pioneer Johannes Gutenberg solved the problem of molding movable type. Once developed, printing spread rapidly and began to replace hand-printed texts for a wider audience.

Thus, intellectual life soon was no longer the exclusive domain of church and court, and literacy became a necessity of urban existence. The printing press strengthens intellectual fires at the end of the Middle Ages, helping usher in an era of enlightenment. This great cultural rebirth was inspired by widespread access to and appreciation for classical art and literature, and these translated into a renewed passion for artistic expression. Without the development of the printing press, the Renaissance may never have happened. Without inexpensive printing to make books available to a large portion of society, the son of John Shakespeare, a minor government official in rural England in the mid-1500s, may never have been inspired to write what are now recognized as some of history's greatest plays. What civilization gained from Gutenberg's invention is incalculable.

Now we have come to the latest development of printing press. Luckily out from manual process to the latest procedure printing press is still catering for the purpose of his creationto give satisfaction to the general people by providing a wider information opportunities through the means of newspapers, literary pieces books and a lot more.

Printing Press Development

There are a lot of new technologies used in the printing press industry. Make it from simple to very complicated machines that for sure will lead to the transformation of printing services. And even more, latest technologies are still innovating for faster and accurate printing results.

The original method of printing was block printing, pressing sheets of paper into individually carved wooden blocks usually called(xylography). It is believed that block printing originated in China and the earliest known printed text, the Diamond Sutra (a Buddhist scripture), was printed in China in 868 A.D. The technique was also known in Europe, where it was mostly used to print Bibles. Because of the difficulties inherent in carving massive quantities of minute text for every block, and given the levels of peasant illiteracy at the time, texts such as the "Pauper's Bibles" emphasized illustrations and used words sparsely. As a new block had to be carved for each page, printing different books was an incredibly time consuming activity.

After the block printing another technique was been introduced, the moveable clay and metal type are processes much more than hand copying. The use of movable type in printing was invented in 1041 AD by Bi Sheng in China. Sheng used clay type, which broke easily, but eventually Goryeo (Korea) sponsored the production of metal type (a type foundry was established by the Korean government in the early 15th century). Since there are thousands of Chinese characters (Koreans also used Chinese characters in literature), the benefit of the technique is not as apparent as with alphabetic based languages. Movable type did spur, however, additional scholarly pursuits in Song China and facilitated more creative modes of printing. Nevertheless, movable type was never extensively used in China until the European style printing press was introduced in relatively recent times (thus bringing the technology full circle).

Although probably unaware of the Chinese/Korean printing methods. Gutenberg refined the technique with the first widespread use of movable type, where the characters are separate parts that are inserted to make the text. Gutenberg is also credited with the first use of an oil-based ink, and using "rag" paper introduced into Europe from China by way of Muslims, who had a paper mill in operation in Baghdad as early as 794. Before inventing the printing press in 1440, Gutenberg had worked as a goldsmith. Without a doubt, the skills and knowledge of metals that he learned as a craftsman were crucial to the later invention of the press.

From the different pioneering inventors of the printing press, nowadays high-tech machines are also invented to to help upgrade the industry when it comes to fast, efficient and credible result of printing services. The printing press certainly initiated an "information revolution" on par with the Internet today. Printing could and did spread new ideas quickly and with greater impact.

Printing Equipment Safety Guidelines - Safety Measures in Handling Printing Equipment

Did you know for a fact that the Printing Industry has considerable standing in UKs business and economy by being 6th largest industry in the country?

Yes! In fact, there are about 15,000 existing printing companies in the country with about 340,000 employed workers. Thus, considering its large labor force, tasks and the machineries involved in a printing company, accidents are, not surprisingly, frequent occurrences. Annually, printing companies come up with a report of about 1,350 work-related accidents and major injuries like fractures and amputations are results of about 200 of these types of accidents.

In order to have a clear view of how and why accidents occur they were classified into three common types: manual handling; slips and trips and machinery accidents. Manual handling accidents represent about 1/3 of all the accidents reported by the printing and newspaper publishing industries. While, slips and trips accidents have a reported 341 slip and trip accidents where a significant number caused major injuries. Slips and trips represents over 25% of all the accidents by this sector of industry. The third and most common type of accident are machinery accidents in the printing and newspaper publishing industries and represents around 16% of all reported injuries. These accidents occur during setting up or cleaning down of printing presses or print finishing machinery.

In the printing industry, it is important to manage Machinery Safety in order to minimize accidents on machineries. These could be done by first identifying the problem areas in machines. After problem shooting decisions must be made on what to do and act on these decisions. Effective management of machinery safety means, that you troubleshoot and make sure that the following are done:

  • Equipment is suitable for the use that it was intended for.
  • Equipment is adequately maintained.
  • Guards and protective devices are supplied and kept in good working order.
  • Equipment whose safe operation is critically dependant on its condition in use and where deterioration would lead to a significant risk, are inspected at suitable intervals by a competent person.
  • Adequate operator training and instructions are given.

Following the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) places general duties on employers to ensure that the work equipment they provide is suitable and safety for use. Practical improvements must be made especially on troublesome printing equipment identified. By this, accidents may be more lessened and workers would not have to risk too much in their performance.

Screen Printing Gets a Rival

Before anything else, lets have a brief description of the screen printing and heat transfer processes. Screen printing refers to the forcing of inks through a stencil that is in a mesh material. Heat transfer, on the other hand, is a method of applying an image in T-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, hats, bags and more by releasing an ink, dye, toner, etc. from a special transfer paper via heat. Now, lets move onwards

According to the article Screen Printing vs. Heat Transfer by Bruce Roberts which was posted at www.bfprinting.com, the author has mentioned some pros and cons in using the screen printing and heat transfer methods to produce printed apparels. The article has stated that screen printing is advisable if you are planning to do mass production of T-shirts. He has added that digital heat transfer must be considered for printing short runs because it avoids the expense and extra work of preparing screens and cleaning up ink and chemicals. With financial considerations, much money is needed in screen printing than in heat transfer if you want to set up a business. The screen printing process was also explained in Roberts article.

Advantages and Limitations of Screen Printing

Screen printing is suitable for most projects which will be exposed to outdoor elements because of its inks that can last outdoors up to seven years against fading. Its other advantages include larger or smaller design format, use of half tones and blends, versatility and adaptability, great design reproduction capabilities, being good with fine detail, being economical on larger orders, and being permanent when applied properly. So, if you need printing on ridged materials like wood, glass, plastics, etc., it is absolutely the perfect choice for durability and value. However, it doesnt work well on coarse textured substrates.

Advantages and Limitations of Heat Transfer

The heat transfer process offers unlimited print color combinations, photographic quality reproductions, and the versatility to print small quantities with multicolor designs. It also allows an opportunity to have small quantities of shirts made with colorful designs at affordable prices. Moreover, heat transfer printed shirts are fully washable and can be ironed after a wash while screen-printed shirts cannot be ironed. However, this process doesnt work properly on dark shirts.

There you have it, folks! With this information on screen printing and heat transfer, the choice is still left for you to decide on which process best suits you. I agree that both methods of printing can be truly fun and rewarding but then, there will always be one that will stand out from among these two. What do you think, is it screen printing or heat transfer?
